I’ve been considering the purchase of an electric trike. I looked them up on google and here is what I found.
- You can pedal as a tricycle or drive it as an electric trike or
you can combine pedaling and electric power at the same time - It has an oversized seat with a backrest, LED front light, front and rear storage baskets perfect for groceries, or to give your favorite pets a ride.
- Reaches speeds up to 15 mph and can travel up to 20 miles on a single charge.

Licensed on my sixteenth birthday, I began driving the family station wagon. When my children were born, it was safer to drive mommy cars. Sports cars and convertibles blew my hair in the wind while racing down the highways in my thirties, forties, and fifties. I love sleek automobiles.
The word tricycle reminds me of three-year-olds who have learned to balance but aren’t quite ready for bicycle training wheels. However, I acknowledge that I need to exercise more often, getting out of the car to use my legs and feet. There are many bike paths and trails to walk or ride in Northern California. When we reach our sixties, we are supposed to be wiser and maybe eccentric, even as we ease up on the gas pedal. So I guess it wouldn’t hurt me to try it out. We’ll see. I just can’t get past the vision of that three-year-old trying to remain balanced.
